My Gossip Girl Rant
The above ads for the CW11’s Gossip Girl have created the latest controversy in TV land. Now when I speak of controversy, I am not referring to the raciness of the ads, nor the fact that they are for a “teen” drama, instead I am referring to the foolish parent watchdog groups that are all up in arms over these ads. Perhaps these ads have parents going crazy because the true nature of the show they allow their 13 year old girl watch is being shoved down their throat. Imagine parents knew what their children were watching on TV without the network putting right in front of them, more so then the fact that their kids are watching it in their OWN HOME! While these shows may have actors in their 20’s and 30’s portraying teen characters, these shows are not exactly for your kids. We aren’t talking about Saved By The Bell here people! These shows are coke and sex fueled raves with a little violence and statutory rape mixed in. So, you have two choices here, you can either accept the fact that your kid is out there drinking, getting high and having wild sex with everyone and anyone, or you can get involved in your child’s life and be a parent, which sometimes means saying NO to what your child wants! You’re their parent, not friend! Stop blaming television for what you allow your children to do!
