David Byrne Bike Racks

Working with the DOT, former Talking Heads front man, David Byrne has designed and installed nine quirky little bike racks around the city. All in an effort to promote cycling around town, the art bike racks have been placed throughout the city and given cute little names. For instance the one near the Lincoln Tunnel is “The Jersey” and the one in Williamsburg is “The low life trash” The Hipster” (pictured above, located on Bedford Ave. near N. 6th St., in Williamsburg.)
