SABER’s LA River Piece Gets Buffed

The SABER L.A. River piece has been forever placed into infamy, thanks to the broke State of California. With the State of California postponing the purchase of new textbooks for schools, a move that may “put students at a disadvantage“, one has to wonder where the money to buff this notorious piece of art came from. Now, I know how state and city budgets work, and if a department doesn’t bleed through all of the money they are alloted they won’t receive the same, or more during the next budget season. However, in dire times such such as the financial crisis California is suffering at the moment, don’t you think the money to clean graffiti off the side of the L.A. River should be redirected to necessary programs like EDUCATING out youth?
I could speculate that this piece was specifically targeted for the notoriety it has received throughout the graffiti subculture, but I won’t. I am sure L.A. simply ran out of paint for all the other graffiti surrounding the piece before they could paint it over too.

i honestly think the city has nothing better to do with there time so they have to buff out works of art that they claim to be a “crime”. like i could under stand if there was a toy throwie on a church or a school and they used tax payers money to paint it over, but come on a beautiful piece of art that made a historic land mark in the urban and non urban art world in the LA river where its not hurting any buddy? art you f***ing serious???? the cities of the USA really need to get their priorities straightened the hell out because that is rediculous…..
