A while back Polaroid broke the hearts of photo enthusiasts everywhere and cancelled production of its classic 600 instant film. Hearing the out cry of real photographers everywhere, the brand is releasing a modernized version of the OneStep PIC 1000 camera and ten packs of the 600 film. The cameras set to sell for under $100., should be in stores by years end! The new version of the PIC 1000 will be available in a variety of finishes, including the wood design shown above.
Supported by a strategic relationship with Summit Global Group, a longtime Polaroid partner, and The Impossible Project, the manufacturer of classic film for Polaroid film cameras, Polaroid will offer a completely redesigned, modern version of the Polaroid OneStep camera, the PIC 1000. The PIC 1000 will be available in a range of fun colors and use classic Polaroid Color 600 Instant Film to produce the brand’s classic white border instant pictures. The Polaroid Color 600 Instant Film will work with both classic and new Polaroid cameras and will be offered in packs of 10 pictures. The new classic PIC 1000 camera and instant color film will be available at national retailers in 2010. -Polaroid Press Release

As my Father pointed out to me, Heineken recently began re-broadcasting it’s walk-in fridge TV commercial. To coincide with the relaunch of the campaign, Heineken placed giant homeless mansions walk-in fridge boxes around, perhaps the only place high enough to believe these were from real fridges, Amsterdam, to make people think that the walk-in fridge from the beer makers ad was actually available for purchase.

Fire extinguisher tags are the new black this graffiti season, thus making it a smart idea for Mr. KRINK himself, Craig Costello to produce his own custom variety of extinguisher applicators. With the drippy-mess that is KRINK it is only fitting that Craig has released these limited edition pieces. However, being limited to 20, signed and costing $1,000. you might not want to use one of these on the side of just any wall. All kidding aside, this is a great example of a brand staying current within leading in it’s industry. KRINK maintains a remarkable balance of marketing to the “street” and to those who want to hold a pricey, collectible part of that world.

I am really liking the can redesign for Nestea Iced-Tea cans by graphic designer Bob Dinetz. The use of circle on the cans to indicate regular or diet tea much more effectively visually communicates the products qualities than that of the Pepsi smiling circle.
