With the Dark Knight opening today, I thought what better way to show my excitement for the film then by showing the video lapse of, no not the movie or trailer, but of AUGOR x REVOK painting a Dark Knight billboard in LA. Don’t be confused by the first part of the video as it is LA’s dynamic duo causing some good old wreck, building up suspense to the classic billboard.
I know the Dark Knight is expected to be the best movie of the summer, but there just might be another contender. Coming soon to a theater near you, Hell Ride is a biker flick produced by Quentin Tarantino that’s written & directed by Larry Bishop. The film pays homage to the old school biker movies of the 60s and 70s. It’s one 83-minute non-stop biker party that exploits the three Bs: bikes, beer, and booty, and damn there is a lot of all three in it, including the opening 10 minute full on orgy scene. As if that wasn’t enough to get your ass in the seats, Vinnie Jones, the official coolest man on the planet kills in the film too!
This Friday, the most anticipated movie of the summer is set for release. You know of course, I am referring to the Dark Knight. What the studio doesn’t want you to know is that the script for the second installment of the new Batman films was written by the AWESOMELY AWESOME Michael “Awesome” Bay (you know the guy who brought you the AWESOME Transformers movie). If you want to know what happens in the film, click here and read the AWESOME script.
Like Batman has (had?) Robin, NYC has the SMART crew to handle our Batman billboards, while LA has AUGOR and REVOK of the MSK crew to take care of business on the West Side.
This makes me wonder where DARKS and DAYS are during all this. You would think a Dark Knight canvas would be perfect for that duo.
Communication is getting easier and easier every day, yet I always some how felt that something was missing. Now after seeing Inha Luke Yoo’s entry in Google’s “Mobile Tricks” contest, I know what the void in communication is! I want to be able to communicate via hologram, just like Princess Leia did using R2DR in Star Wars. Check out the video of Yoo’s concept. I love the idea, but it would still be missing the android to deliver the message to Obi-Wan for me. Dammit, I am never satisfied.
Granted this is not a new idea, I already mentioned Star Wars showed the idea back in 1977 and the Jetsons also showed this type of technology previously. Sure those are a movie and cartoon, but the above video is nothing more than a computer created conceptual model. I wonder how long it will be until this technology actual becomes a reality?
This is what I love to see. Nothing but respect goes out to MARTY for taking his spot back. Last week I let you peep the pics of MARTY taking out the Get Smart billboard on the BK side of the WillyB. Well, to no surprise his work didn’t run long, being covered up by a new ad for the upcoming Dark Knight flick. MARTY isn’t the kind of dude to sit back and let anyone take his spots, so he went back and rocked out the billboard again with his alias MONEY moniker! This gives me hope that real graffiti just might still be alive! Keep putting in that work!
Check out some older pics of this billboard being taken out after the jump.
