While I am not able to yet get a Droid phone until my sentence has been served with AT&T, I impressed with the features and capabilities of the new Google phone. Personally I do not care for slide out keyboards and I feel the styling is lacking in comparison to the iPhone I currently have, I do believe with this next generation of phones Google is starting to create a name for themselves in the smartphone market.

Following in the footsteps of Yahoo!, Microsoft’s new search decision engine, Bing is taking to the airwaves with TV ads like this one. Will this help them surpass the Goliath that is Google?
Microsoft has launched it’s newest entry into the search engine competition, two days ahead of schedule. The product dubbed “Bing” is, as Microsoft says a “decision engine, designed to empower people to gain insight and knowledge from the Web, moving more quickly to important decisions.” However, with Google having become a household word for search, and Yahoo! not far behind, one has to wonder if Microsoft putting in a real effort for market share in the search engine realm is coming too late. Perhaps, with the web being the sole location most turn to for research and answers, a new platform might be just what is needed. Competition creates innovation, and the search engine market has not really developed greatly over the last several years. The steps that these players will have to make to stay ahead of the curb can only make the lives of users easier, while producing more refined and accurate search results. That being said, I quickly attempted a few search tests on the new Bing platform without any astounding results. so whether or not this day will mark the next step forward for the evolution of internet search, I’d have to say no. I will continue to use and adjust to Bing in the coming days, so I can give it a fair chance.
